Not Finding A Dry Skin Moisturizer That Works For You? Here's Some Things To Look For
Dry skin can be tough to deal with, especially if you haven't found
the right dry skin moisturizer for you. Many moisturizers will claim
they work, but only a few actually do. What do I mean by that?
Most moisturizers just sit on the surface of your skin and that can be
fine if your skin has enough moisture below the surface. Unfortunately,
that's not always the case with dry skin. Most of the time when your skin is dry, it's
dry all the way down. Think dehydrated (and very thirsty).
While protecting the surface of your skin helps, the best thing to do is
nourish and moisturize down into the layers of your skin. That way when
those layers come up to the surface every 28 days like they always do,
the skin that comes to the surface is supple and healthy. Let's try a little
experiment.
Say we have two pieces of bread on a countertop. We take one when it's still
fresh out of the wrapper and spread a layer of butter on it. We leave it out
all night, then check on it in the morning. Still pretty soft, huh? (Except
for the edges, no butter). That slice of bread had all its moisture sealed in.
Now, take the second piece of bread that was left out all night. The difference is, this one
didn't get the butter. What have you
got in the morning? Well, probably something that's only good for making turkey
stuffing with (or pounding a good sized nail). Now we'll spread some butter on this
one. Any difference? Probably not a whole lot since the bread was really dried out
to begin with.
Think of your skin like the bread. Please, I know it's a stretch, work with me here. When your skin is
really dehydrated, just putting something on the surface is going to get you
limited results. It may make it feel a little better, but it's not giving your
skin what it needs. Choose a dry skin moisturizer that works below the surface
and also protects and you'll get longer-lasting and much better results.
Choose a skin care product that contains wonderful Ayurvedic plant extracts like
Winter Cherry, Licorice and Hemidesmus that add needed moisture to your skin. They also help
protect it from all those nasty pollutants it comes in contact with everyday.

Dry skin moisturizers that also contain Vitamin E and shea butter benefit your skin because
they nourish and heal your skin.
